The Pendil Partnership

Our Objective

TPP is dedicated to sourcing, buying and syndicating some of jump racing’s best prospects and creating collectives of like-minded and youthful people to share in the highs (and the inevitable lows) involved with being a horse owner.

Membership Explained

We offer our Members 12 months of exclusive access to our syndicated horses through a dedicated Members area on our website. In addition, we offer regular online content relating to syndicated horses through our social media channels as well as the more traditional access to the horses through visits to the trainers yard. Moreover, our members will have the opportunity to attend race days as an Owner. We also plan to host events where the membership will have the opportunity to meet socially.

Meet Our Amazing Team

TPP has gathered together a team of experts to help acquire, train and jockey horses for our Members, delivering unforgettable experiences.

Rupert & Dee Swallow

Founders

Rupert & Dee Swallow

Rupert and Dee Swallow, the Founders of The Pendil Partnership, established the organization to actualize their passion for horses. Dee's lifelong journey with horses began at 13 when she started riding from a local stable in Chippenham, while Rupert, although not an avid horse rider, has a profound family connection to jump racing, notably with Pendil, a legendary horse once owned by his mother and grandmother. Over the past 24 years, Rupert and Dee participated in various syndicates across flat and jump racing. In 2021, they transitioned to sole ownership of jump racehorses, assembling a team, including skilled individuals like Will Biddick and Ed Bailey. TPP, established the same year, aimed to consolidate horse ownership under one umbrella. Their upcoming launch in October 2023 will introduce a syndicate focused on enabling diverse young individuals to engage in the thrill of jump racehorse ownership at an affordable rate.

Will Biddick

Partner

Will Biddick

Will is an integral member of The Pendil Partnership. With an extensive background in the equine domain, he has established himself as a dominant amateur jockey and a prominent point-to-point horse trainer in the country. Boasting a record of 560 victories, Will holds the title of the most successful rider in the history of jump racing. In 2023, he clinched his eighth national championship, showcasing a remarkable 42% win rate. Additionally, he holds the record for the highest number of winners in a season (68) and has claimed victories in renowned races like the Punchestown and Aintree Foxhunters. As a trainer, his successes include training the 2021 Cheltenham Foxhunters winner. In 2015, Will established Biddick Breaking, a facility responsible for breaking in over 150 horses annually in Somerset. This operation readies the horses for National Hunt stables, collaborating with esteemed trainers like Paul Nicholls. Biddick Breaking guides the horses through the breaking-in process and pre-training, ensuring their preparedness for a successful career in racing.

Paul Nicholls

Paul Nicholls

Paul Nicholls is a highly esteemed figure in the world of horse racing, known for his remarkable career as a 14-time champion National Hunt racehorse trainer. He has built an exceptional legacy through decades of expertly training top-tier champions, earning widespread acclaim in the racing community. His training methods have consistently produced victorious racehorses, leading to numerous prestigious wins and championships. Not only celebrated for his success, but Nicholls is also recognized for his deep commitment to the well-being of the horses in his care. His dedication to their health and happiness, alongside their competitive achievements, distinguishes him in the racing world. Ed Bailey

Partner

Ed Bailey

Ed Bailey, a 26-year-old, has an extensive background in horse racing, starting at 14 years old by riding for a local trainer in Herefordshire. His involvement extended to point-to-point competitions before pursuing education in Bloodstock at Cirencester, where he learned from the Highflyer Bloodstock team. In 2019, he founded Ed Bailey Bloodstock and has seen considerable success, aiding in horses winning 122 races. Notably, one of his purchases, Famous Clermont, triumphed in the Aintree Foxhunters in 2023. Frequently Asked Questions

You can find more information about our frequently asked questions by clicking on each tab.
Can I attend race meetings as an owner?

There are a limited number of Owner’s badges available at any race meeting where a syndicated horse is running. TPP reserve the right to have at least one Owner’s badge. Should there be more applicants who wish to wish to attend a race meeting as an Owner than available badges, attendance will be decided by a ballot. Invitation to attend a race as an Owner will be sent via the Members Website.

TPP anticipates Members will be receiving regular updates via social media or the Members Website. These will be, at the very least, once a week.

TPP will organise a number of stable visits to see a syndicated horse. There will be a maximum number of places available on such visits, should more than that number wish to attend, attendance will be decided by a ballot. Invitations to join a stable visit will be sent via the Members Website.

All decisions relating to a syndicate will be made by The Pendil Partnership on behalf of the Membership. In certain extra ordinary circumstances TPP may ask for the Membership to vote on an issue; in those circumstances, more than 66% of the Members of a syndicate would need to be in agreement in order to carry a decision.

Applicants should not enter into a Syndicate on the premise that they are entering a financial transaction. The only financial return a syndicate member can receive is their pro-rata share of any winnings and their pro-rate share of any insurance pay out. Insurance is taken out over the death of a horse as a result of a racing or training incident.

The price to join a syndicate will be set annually by The Pendil Partnership. It is expected that the cost of joining a syndicate will be less that £100. It is intended that renewing syndicate Members will get a discount on their second syndicate payment on the same horse and that a discount will always be offered to renewing Members

The Partners believe that the main benefit is the coming together of a like-minded group of people to get involved in jump racing and share their passion both on line and  whilst attending TPP events.

In overview, a Member pays a fee in return for 12 months of services from the Syndicate that include a Welcome Pack, access to Members only content, the opportunity to attend race meetings as an Owner and trainer yard visits.

A TPP syndicate is a 12 month Membership where a group of people (up to 3,000) all take a fractional membership in a horse. Membership should not be considered as an investment. Prize money and any proceeds from an insurance claim will be shared with the Membership, this being the only financial return from a Membership.
